The Reticulated Giraffe is native to Northern/north-eastern Kenya and is known for having polygonal dark spots separated by heavy white lines.
Giraffes tend to stick in herds, allowing them to better protect each other and their young. To aid in this, they have excellent eyesight, allowing them to very far away!
Being one of the tallest land mammals, they can range from 14-18 feet depending on their sex and age! Their tongue can be around 18 inches and allows them to grab leaves from the tallests of trees.
Speaking of, their diet consists mostly of leaves, fruits, and seeds.
Reticulated giraffes became classified as endangered by the IUCN in 2018. This was mostly due to habitat loss, detiorating habitat quality, and poaching.
Giraffes are held in regard not only within African culture but others around the world. This is due to their unique structures.
